Schneeflöckchen began with a friendship, a long-held ambition and an audacious idea.
For years, screenwriter Arend Remmers had been pursuing his dream of writing for the screen, dedicating countless hours to his craft while working toward his first feature film.
When Remmers approached his friend, Ventaro Film founder and producer Reza Brojerdi, with an unconventional film concept, he came with a simple proposition:
“Let’s just make the film with no money. El Mariachi style!”
It was a challenge Brojerdi couldn’t resist.
Convinced by the originality of the idea and Remmers‘ determination, Brojerdi became the project’s first investor, commissioning and financing the screenplay. Over the following months, the story took shape through an ongoing creative dialogue, with Remmers continually writing, refining and developing the script in response to feedback.
Together with fellow producers Adrian Topol and Erkan Acar, Brojerdi eventually brought the project to life as an independent feature film.
Directed by Adolfo J. Kolmerer, Schneeflöckchen marked a defining milestone for everyone involved. It was Arend Remmers‘ first feature film as a screenwriter and Adolfo J. Kolmerer’s feature directorial debut. Above all, it was a shared achievement, made possible by the creativity, commitment and mutual trust of everyone who helped bring the film to life.
What began as a seemingly impossible no-budget challenge became a completed feature film and an important stepping stone in the careers of those involved.
For Ventaro Film, Schneeflöckchen represents the essence of independent filmmaking: believing in people, recognizing creative potential and taking the first risk to turn an unlikely idea into reality.
For Reza Brojerdi personally, Schneeflöckchen marked the realization of his own Holy Grail: bringing his first feature film to life.
