A true story of love, exile, ambition and devastating loss.

From Nazi Germany to the glamour of Hollywood, acclaimed filmmaker Douglas Sirk built a remarkable career while carrying the unbearable weight of a son he was forced to leave behind.

Torn between the woman he loved, the child he lost and the world he sought to change, Sirk transformed personal tragedy into some of cinema’s most unforgettable stories.

A Hell of a Paradise is more than a biopic. It’s a powerful story about impossible choices, guilt, love and the price of freedom.
